Qualifying for a Camelard College Faculty Rank

Magicians and those in the Allied Magical Arts may apply for (and be appointed to) the following faculty positions at Camelard based on age and years of accomplished service to their respective Arts. Those qualifying for the rank of Assistant Professor of Conjuring and higher are entitled to wear CCCC academic regalia: the black academic gown, mortarboard cap and tassel, and the coveted gold Honor Cords. Professors may also wear in their sport coat/suit coat lapel button hole the Faculty Lapel Pin. Faculty who hold professorial appointments at private and state universities may prefer to wear their respective academic regalia.
- Fellow - a young magician (18 and under) of any experience may apply for membership in the student body of CCCC and receive the title of Fellow of the Camelard College. Upon reaching 18, a Fellow becomes a Fellow Emeritus (for men) or a Fellow Emerita (for women).
- Instructor of Conjuring - appointment made at the completion of the 5th year of magical dedication, practice, and performance; the Instructor must be 21 years of age or older;
- Assistant Professor of Conjuring - appointment made at the completion of the 15th year of magical dedication, practice, and performance; a Professor of any rank must be 21 years of age or older;
- Associate Professor of Conjuring - appointment made at the completion of the 25th year of magical dedication, practice, and performance;
- Full Professor of Conjuring - appointment made at the completion of the 30th year of magical dedication, practice, and performance;
- Senior Full Professor of Conjuring - The Senior Full Professor of Conjuring, a most distinguished title, is selected from those in the rank of Full Professor who have completed the 35th year of magical dedication, practice, and performance. Only two appointments are made annually by a vote of the entire CCCC Faculty. The Faculty of the College will select as Senior Full Professor one who has made significant contributions to the Art of Magic, especially in the areas of wide promotion of the Magical Art or magical education (as, for example, serving as regional and/or national officers in S.A.M., I.B.M., or similar national magical organizations; or, books and articles published in M.U.M., The Linking Ring, Genii, or Magic or continued teaching of magic in public and private schools, or lecturing at magic conventions). A ballot is sent to the Faculty in December of each year, and the resulting appointments are announced in January of each year.
A Camelard College Faculty appointment is free and comes with a Letter of Appointment from the Chancellor and a Diploma of Rank and Title in the College. These documents are sent in pdf format as attachments to email. The documents are high-quality and may be printed out in small or large formats without loss of definition.
